Blood Donation Van (Thalassemia)

Extending the ongoing initiatives of Rotary in its fight against Thalassemia, with an objective to address the persistent shortage of blood for thalassaemic patient, RCNM Palm Beach club is planning to purchase a mobile Van for blood collection. Many willing donors find it difficult to visit collection centres on the day of blood donation. This mobile blood collection van will reach out to housing societies and make it easier for such willing donors to donate while also spreading awareness among other residents about blood donation and Thalassemia.

6. DRIP IRRIGATION + FARM POND

The project aims to improve the livelihoods of tribal farmers in remote villages of Maharashtra through sustainable water conservation and solar-powered drip irrigation systems. By constructing farm ponds and installing solar irrigation systems, the initiative will enable year-round farming, improve water management, increase farmers’ income, and reduce migration to cities. Led by the Rotary Club of Thana West in partnership with Pragati Pratishthan, the project supports long-term rural development through renewable energy and sustainable agriculture.

Mega SHG Mela - Me Saksham

Me Saksham – District Thrust Area Project Report Introduction “Me Saksham” is a District Thrust Area initiative aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) by providing them with opportunities for livelihood enhancement, skill development, financial awareness, and market access. The project helped women become more confident and independent by giving them a platform to learn, grow, and showcase their products. It also encouraged networking, knowledge sharing, and better income opportunities for participants. The project was initiated through the collective efforts of the Rotary Clubs of Navi Mumbai and several other Rotary clubs across District 3142, whose wholehearted support helped make the initiative a grand success. Mega Sale Exhibition The three-day “Me Saksham” Mega Sale brought together women entrepreneurs and Self-Help Groups from Navi Mumbai, Thane, and various parts of Maharashtra. Approximately 60 stalls were set up to showcase and sell a wide range of products. The response from SHGs and women entrepreneurs was overwhelming, with requests for participation far exceeding the available stall capacity. The event provided a direct marketplace for these entrepreneurs, enabling them to connect with customers, increase visibility for their products, and generate income. Over the course of the three-day event, stall participants collectively generated sales of 2,07,000/-. Beyond the financial gains, the event instilled confidence, encouragement, motivation, and hope among the participants, strengthening their journey towards becoming truly “Saksham” (self-reliant). Awareness and Empowerment Seminar On the inaugural day, an extensive seminar was organized focusing on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and women’s empowerment. Key topics covered included: Digital banking and safe financial transactions Access to loans and microfinance opportunities Formation and management of Self-Help Groups (Bachat Gats) Government schemes and welfare initiatives available for SHGs Inspirational success stories from women entrepreneurs A special highlight of the seminar was the sharing of inspiring journeys by: Ms. Jaya Jadhav, a successful transgender entrepreneur A successful SHG member who demonstrated the transformative impact of collective entrepreneurship The seminar witnessed participation from nearly 350 attendees, including SHG members, social workers, community leaders, and Rotarians. Distinguished Guests The event was graced by several eminent dignitaries, including: Mrs. Sujata Patil, Mayor, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (Chief Guest) Mrs. Saluja Sutar, Head, Women and Child Welfare Department DG Harsh Makol Advisor Satish Mane Seema Khurana, Joint Director, District Thrust Area Their presence and encouragement significantly motivated the participants and reinforced the importance of women’s economic empowerment. Vocational Skill Development Workshops On the second and third days, a series of vocational skill development workshops were conducted to equip participants with practical skills that could create additional livelihood opportunities. The workshops included training in: Woollen Item Making Invisible Necklace Making Toran Making Madhubani Painting More than 100 women actively participated in these hands-on sessions, gaining valuable skills that can help them start micro-enterprises or supplement their family income. Impact and Outcomes The Me Saksham initiative successfully achieved its objectives of: Providing market access to women entrepreneurs and SHGs Promoting entrepreneurship and self-employment Enhancing financial awareness and literacy Facilitating skill development and capacity building Encouraging economic independence among women Creating a platform for networking, learning, and growth Conclusion Me Saksham was far more than a sales exhibition. It served as a comprehensive empowerment platform that created opportunities, built confidence, developed skills, and inspired women to pursue economic independence with renewed determination. The project stands as a testament to Rotary’s commitment towards community development and women’s empowerment, transforming lives and creating pathways towards a more self-reliant and inclusive society.

Vocational Center Operations - RY 25-26

The vocational center is run and managed by RCNM Palm beach club in collaboration with Matru Milan Vikas Kendra, Seawoods. The centre runs vocational training programs providing computer literacy and Spoken English courses for children from underprivileged background and those with disabilities. The program empowers the students in their vocational pursuits and equip them with better employable skills. The students receive a certificate on completing the course successfully. This is an ongoing project and the club funds the program to cover the expenses, staff salaries and equipments required for the center. This year 4 new computers were purchased for computer training program at the centre.

Medical Equipment Supply at Ashraya Hospital

The Rotary Club of Dombivli implemented a Global Grant project at Ashraya Charitable Hospital, Dombivli by installing 7 model medical equipments to upgrade the Operation Theatre, Anesthesia and Ophthalmology facilities. The facilities were inaugurated by DG Harsh Makol and was attended by several district dignitaries and Club President Sujaya. The project was implemented with guidance from District Director Global Grants Ravi Prakash with the, support from international partner Rotary club of Louisville (Noon), Texas, USA and corporate support from Centaur Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. RCNM Palm Beach partnered by contributing $ 4,200/-.

Spandan means heart beat. The project aims at performing congenital Heart Surgery or treating the children born with Congenital Heart Disease. About 1 in 4 infants born with heart defect. They need surgery or other surgery in the first year of life for them to live life to full expectancy. Considering the need RCNM Palm Beach partnered with Thane Creek and contributed 10000 dollars (8.80,000 approximately) for a global grant. The total project value is R 55,50,000/- to operate 37 children.

Our club members participated in the Children’s Day celebration at the Thalassemia Centre, DY Patil. Three members — Rtn. Rajanikant, Rtn. Jyoti, and DG Harsh — attended the event. The event was beautifully arranged by Rtn. Nandita Das. Fun games were organised, and the children thoroughly enjoyed playing and interacting with everyone. Gifts were distributed, and food was served to all the children, making the celebration even more special. It was a joyful and heartwarming experience for the children and for all of us who were present.

A session on Thalassemia awareness was conducted at NMMC School No. 105, Ghansoli. Rtn Nandita Das from ETN team addressed the students, parents and teachers and provided valuable insights on Thalassemia and ways to prevent it. The session was highly informative, and both parents and students participated actively. The initiative was led by Rtn. Jyoti Singh, with strong support from Narpat ji and Advocate Vittal. Mega Job Fair - Service Month Event

Job Fair organized by the Rotary Clubs of Navi Mumbai on November 15, Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan, Vashi, was a collaborative initiative led by the RCNM Plan Beach, RCNM Industrial Area, RCNM Garima and RCNM Bayside, supported by all other Rotary Clubs of Navi Mumbai.This Job Fair aimed to connect job seekers with reputed employers and create meaningful employment opportunities, including special support for persons with disabilities (PWDs). A total of 1,176 candidates registered including 859 general + 317 PWD applicants. On the day of the event, 679 job seekers arrived 313 were successfully placed across various sectors. The event not only provided career opportunities but also showcased the Rotary Clubs’ philosophy of service through action, fostering a more inclusive and self-reliant local workforce.The successful execution of this Job Fair underscores the power of community collaboration and the Rotary movement’s ongoing efforts to enable dignified livelihoods for all.

Quizabled Event — a unique quiz program for children with all kinds of disabilities, conducted on 8th November 2025 at LTIMindtree. Quizabled is a pan-India level competition conducted across eight states of India.This impactful project is being organized in collaboration with Seva in Action, a Bangalore-based organization, and Sujaya Foundation, with LTIMindtree as the funding partner. Rotary District 3142 is proud to partner in this initiative for visually challenged category. This year, over 500 children with disabilities had registered under different categories for the quizzing event.

On 4th October, our club conducted an engaging Art Relay Activity session in collaboration with our Interact Club of CP Goenka International School, Ulwe. Around 35 students from Grades 5 to 9 enthusiastically participated in this fun-filled session, which was brimming with colors, creativity, and music. The primary objective of the activity was to help students develop leadership qualities, effective communication, decision-making skills, and spontaneous teamwork — all through the medium of art. The session was beautifully conducted by Ms. Subraja Chandrasekaran, an accomplished artist associated with the Envecon Foundation. Global Grant - Spandan - Little Heart Surgery

The project Spandan, Heart Surgery project aims at performing congenital heart surgery or treating the children born with congenital heart disease (CHD). Congenital heart disease (CHD) is present at birth and can affect the structure of a baby’s heart and the way it works. About 1 in 4 infants are born with a heart defect has a critical congenital heart disease. Babies with a critical CHD need surgery or other procedures in the first year of life. Timely treatment due to financial limitations for the underprivileged is root cause of denied / delayed treatment. RCNM Palm Beach joined with RC Thane Green City and other six clubs to implement a Global Grant worth Rs. 53,04,000/- for surgery of 35 children and to bring smiles to the young hearts and to their families. The beneficiary will be able to live the normal healthy life to full expectancy post-surgery. RCNM Palm Beach contributed a total of Rs.. 8,70,000/- towards the same.

Green Gold - Organic Farming Training

8 Clubs from three Rotary International Districts 3131, 3141 & 3142 came together jointly organizing GREEN GOLD, an Organic Farming & Modern techniques Training Programme for farmers at Krishi Vidnyan Kendra, Baramati on 11th & 12th September 2025. This programme provided farmers with practical knowledge on chemical-free and sustainable farming methods by eminent experts in the field. 85 farmers from Thane, Palghar, Nashik, Pune, Solapur, Satara, and Kolhapur districts of Maharashtra participated. The project was supported by Finolex Plasson industries, Zydex Agro & Rtn Nilesh Dhahifule of Swastik Builders & Developers. On 12th farmers were taken on a field visit and shown the demonstration of modern equipment and practices used in the organic farming. From RCNM Palm Beach Director Rtn. Manoranjan and Vice President Rtn. Prachi attended the training program at Baramati. Rtn. Manoranjan was also the convener for the event.

A special session on Disaster Handling was organized for the Interact Club of C P Goenka School, Ulwe, Navi Mumbai. The session was conducted by the staff of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and was attended by over 400 students. Students were informed about the best practices, precautions, and the dos and don’ts during various types of disasters such as Fire, Flood, and Accidents. The NDMA team also explained how patients need to be managed during such emergencies. To make the learning more effective, practical demonstrations were carried out. RCNMPB has a vocational training center, where underprivileged children are trained in basic computer, English speaking and soft skills that enable the youth to find placement in corporate organizations. On 2nd August 2025, Rotary Club of Navi Mumbai Palm Beach distributed Study Buddy Application coupons to 50 underprivileged 10th standard students of B.L. Sadgir Vidyalaya, Mengalpada, Shahapur, Thane. This initiative supports students in their crucial academic year by giving them access to quality online coaching and guidance. The Study Buddy App enables structured learning, concept clarity, and regular practice for better exam preparation. This project is part of a district-wide initiative to distribute 35,000 Ideal Study App subscriptions. The program is funded through CSR support from Joinmay(Vivo) It reflects Rotary’s commitment to Education and Literacy, one of Rotary’s seven focus areas. Mini Marathon - Run for Coastal Security Awareness

A 5 km community mini marathon was organized by all Rotary Clubs of Navi Mumbai in association with the NRI (Coastal) Police Station, with the initiative led by Rotary Club of Navi Mumbai Palm Beach. The objective was to spread awareness about Coastal Security and the Helpline No. 1093. Over 200 runners participated across categories. The event began with registration and T-shirt distribution, followed by a Zumba warm-up. The race was flagged off by District Governor Rtn. Harsh Makol, in the presence of NRI Police officials. Winners were awarded trophies, all finishers received medals, and volunteers from RCNM Palm Beach ensured hydration points and breakfast. Despite the rainy morning, the event was well appreciated. The project supports Rotary’s themes of Peacebuilding & Conflict Prevention and Community Economic Development by fostering public awareness, safety, and community spirit.

mangrove Clean Up drive

A Mangrove Clean up drive was organized with all the rotary clubs of Navi Mumbai and NSS students of SIES college and Vanshakti Foundation t0 mark the International Day for Conservation of Mangroves. The plastic waste and garbage dumped into the creek by citizens end up choking the roots of these mangroves and hence pose a threat to the existence of the mangroves, which serve as a protection from flooding during heavy rains and during calamities like Tsunamis. A total of 1200 kg of non-biodegradable waste was collected by the volunteers during the drive which was also supported by Maharashtra Security Forces and Department of Forest. This initiative has been taken to promote recycling of plastic waste while also helping spread awareness among the community about environmental hazard due to improper plastic waste disposal. The efforts are made to encourage every household to segregate plastic waste from other waste so that it can be recycled instead of ending up polluting. People are also encouraged to open plastic bags and packages carefully, to avoid creating small plastic objects like package corners and bottle caps etc are difficult to segregate and end up adding to microplastic waste.
